Serenay Kaykaç | Project Coordinator
Serenay Kaykaç is a bachelor student in the department of Political Science and International Relations at Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey. Previously, she was the editor of an online newspaper Anatolia Daily, which was published by International Relations Studies in Turkey (IRST), from 2012 to 2014. Her research interests contain democracy, social movements, gender, Middle East, political theory.
Aşkınnur Eşigül | Project Coordinator
Aşkınnur Eşigül is a second-year graduate student in Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University. She also holds her B.A. from Boğaziçi University, in this department. During her B.A, she had a chance to study at Aarhus University in the department of Political Science as an Erasmus student. The relationship between politics and popular culture, with a focus on media in Turkey is at the centre of her current research. In general her research interests include comparative social movements, gender studies and cultural politics. She speaks English (advanced) and French (beginner).
Mustafa Çelen | IT & Web Coordinator
Mustafa Çelen graduated from Physics Department at Kocaeli University, Turkey. Between 2008-2015 he worked in Anel Group, one of the leading companies in electrical contracting field, in the department of Information Technology in various positions and Qatar for a short time. He is currently working as a Senior SAP BASIS Consultant at Turk Telekom Group company, Innova. During his professional career, he worked in different IT and SAP projects. He reinforced his experiences through certifications in important areas, especially in Microsoft and SAP, and gave technical training in these areas. Since 2010, he has been managing professionally his personal blog (mustafacelen.net). His blog participated in the Hürriyet Bumerang Network in 2012. He is writing original articles on various platforms, especially on Hürriyet Yazarkafe. He successfully represented his corporation in organisations in different areas as “Corporate Games” and “Inter-Enterprise Dragon Festival”. He speaks English.
Ayşe Yanmaz | Event Management Coordinator
Ayşe Yanmaz is a first-year graduate student in Turkish Studies at Sabancı University. She received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations department from Bogazici University in 2017. She spent one semester as an exchange student at University of Twente in the Netherlands, and has taken courses from European Studies department. During her undergraduate studies, she worked various associations, foundations, and companies as an intern. Her research interests include Turkish politics, nationalism, minority studies and memory studies.
Tansu Akıncı | Social Media Coordinator
Tansu Akıncı currently studies Political Science at the University of Vienna. After graduating from Sankt Georgs-Kolleg in Istanbul in 2015 with a degree, she came to Vienna to start her Bachelor’s Degree. She has been involved in various NGOs and worked as a volunteer. She is interested in research topics like political economy, migration, international relations and the EU.
Şafak Beren Yıldırım | Corporate Communications Coordinator
Şafak Beren Yıldırım is graduated from International Relations Department of Işık University Turkey in 2011. Later on in 2012, she continued with being a Master Degree student at Eskişehir Osmangazi University and completed her degree with her Master Thesis entitled “International Criminal Court’s Responsibility to Protect and It’s Role in Implementation”. Yıldırım has enriched her studies with being a research assistant at Wise Men Center for Strategic Studies (BİLGESAM) during May 2015 to September 2016. In addition to her responsibilities in PS:EUROPE, she is a second year PhD student in Political Science at İstanbul Bilgi University. Moreover, she is also a research assistant for a TUBITAK-funded Project. She speaks English. Her research areas are international law, Cyprus, International Criminal Court and human rights.
Meltem Şahin | Coordinator of External Affairs
Meltem Şahin graduated from Fontys International Business School, Netherlands, in 2012 and holds a BA (Econ) in Finance and Controlling. Within her bachelor´s program she spent one term studying finance at Lingnan University, Hong Kong, in 2010. Subsequently, she worked one term as a translator and researcher for Creditreform Russia in Moscow, where she also wrote a thesis about the European Creditreform departments’ communication and dependencies. During her studies Meltem took part in various team building processes and negotiation programs. Ensuing, she worked 3 years at Creditreform Rating AG in Neuss, Germany, where she also completed her bachelor thesis about Quality Management systems within rating processes. Currently, she is finalizing her studies with a MSc in Business Administration with focus on Human Resources at the University of Vienna. She is native in German and Turkish and furthermore, proficient in English.
Alper Şükrü Gencer | Project Coordinator
Alper Şükrü Gencer is a MA student in International Relations at Koc University. He also took his undergraduate education at Koc University and did double major in International Relations and Economics. Some of the research interests that he is interested in are comparative political economy, development, politics of welfare, and income distribution, inequality and poverty. Moreover, he is employed at an ERC-funded project, Emergıng Welfare, as a team member at Koc University. Having done internship in PS:EUROPE in the spring 2016, since the fall 2016 he is a member of PS:EUROPE team.
Selen Duruşkan | Communication and Media Assistant
Selen Duruşkan is a first year undergraduate student in the department of Political Science and International Relations at Bogazici University. She is participating in Bogazici University Center for European Studies Student Forum as activities coordinator for 2 years. She is also writer at Dinamik. She is one of the participants of Young Mediators as Game Changers supported by Embassy of the USA. She participated in various conferences, seminars and workshops, and contributed to an environment project of European Volunteer System in Poland on August, 2016. Political psychology, migration and Middle Eastern studies, European studies, globalization and social movements, political theory are her main interest areas. She speaks English and she is learning French currently.
Betül Kübra Arslan | Project Assistant
Betül Kübra Arslan, graduated from International Relations Department of Özyeğin University. She takes part in research assistantship both at university and Koc University Migration Research Center. During 2016 Summer, she has made her internship at Habitat Association and later on she has worked at Habitat Association. She takes part voluntary activities of different NGOs. Migration, development, civil participation and democratization studies are the research interests of her.
Salih Tosun | Project Assistant
Salih Tosun is a first-year graduate student in International Relations at Koç University. He holds his B.A. from Boğaziçi University in Political Science & International Relations department. During his B.A., he had a chance to study at the University of Gothenburg via Erasmus program. He worked at Bilgi University Center for Migration Research and also got involved in some international projects. In addition to his current research assistantship at Migration Research Center at Koç University (MireKoç), he has actively involved in PS:EUROPE projects.
Burak Ak | Project Assistant
Burak Ak graduated from Political Science and International Relations Department at Marmara University in 2014. During two years, he took role in the different events of International Relations Club at Marmara University. He is still working on his thesis “Muslim Youth In Turkey’s Social Media: Dunya Sozluk (e-Dictionary)” within Modern Turkish History Master Program at Boğaziçi University. Among his research interests are youth sociology, media studies, social psychology and political psychology.
Arif Safa Yükselay | Event Management Assistant
Arif Safa Yükselay, is a second undergraduate student at Boğaziçi University, in Economics department. Arif Safa speaks English and studying German currently. His research interests include political theory, globalization, socioeconomics, philosophy and western literature.
