Serenay Kaykaç | Project Coordinator
Serenay Kaykaç is a bachelor student in the department of Political Science and International Relations at Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey. Previously, she was the editor of an online newspaper Anatolia Daily, which was published by International Relations Studies in Turkey (IRST), from 2012 to 2014. Her research interests contain democracy, social movements, gender, Middle East, political theory.
Aşkınnur Eşigül | Project Coordinator
Aşkınnur Eşigül is a second-year graduate student in Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University. She also holds her B.A. from Boğaziçi University, in this department. During her B.A, she had a chance to study at Aarhus University in the department of Political Science as an Erasmus student. The relationship between politics and popular culture, with a focus on media in Turkey is at the centre of her current research. In general her research interests include comparative social movements, gender studies and cultural politics. She speaks English (advanced) and French (beginner).
Rumeysanur Erikli | Project Coordinator
Rumeysanur Erikli graduated from Political Science and International Relations Department of Boğaziçi University, and had a double major in History in the same university in 2014. She was enrolled in a one-year master degree program in Sociology and Social Anthropology at Central European University during 2014-2015. The title of her M.A. thesis was “The December 17-25 Corruption/Coup Incident in Turkey in the Eyes of Islamic Social Movements”. Her main interests are social movements, islamism, and anthropology of corruption and state.
Mustafa Çelen | IT & Web Coordinator
Mustafa Çelen graduated from Physics Department at Kocaeli University, Turkey. Between 2008-2015 he worked in Anel Group, one of the leading companies in electrical contracting field, in the department of Information Technology in various positions and Qatar for a short time. He is currently working as a SAP BASIS Consultant at Turk Telekom Group company, Innova. During his professional career, he worked in different IT and SAP projects. He reinforced his experiences through certifications in important areas, especially in Microsoft and SAP, and gave technical training in these areas. Since 2010, he has been managing professionally his personal blog (mustafacelen.net). His blog participated in the Hürriyet Bumerang Network in 2012. He is writing original articles on various platforms, especially on Hürriyet Yazarkafe. He successfully represented his corporation in organisations in different areas as “Corporate Games” and “Inter-Enterprise Dragon Festival”. He speaks English.
Ayşe Yanmaz | Event Management Coordinator
Ayşe Yanmaz is a senior student in Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University. She spent one semester as an exchange student at University of Twente in the Netherlands, and has taken courses from European Studies department. During her undergraduate studies, she worked various associations, foundations, and companies as an intern. In her internships, she has gained experience in the field of marketing and sales in addition to her academic studies in the fields of international relation and political science. She has also been an active member in many student clubs at Boğaziçi University; and participated in the organization of various seminars, tournaments, and competitions.
Ali İhsan Akbaş | Social Media Coordinator
Ali İhsan Akbaş is a senior student of the department of Political Science and International Relations. In 2013, after dropping out Chemical Engineering department in Middle East Technical University, he started to study at his current department in Boğaziçi University, Istanbul. Regarding his media-related studies, he participated in several student initiative non-governmental organizations, such as Co-Opinion, or Center of European Studies Student Forum, and also in professional internships offered by TRT Overseas Department News Portal, Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation, and Dialogue for Common Future Association.
Tansu Akıncı | Social Media Coordinator
Tansu Akıncı currently studies Political Science at the University of Vienna. After graduating from Sankt Georgs-Kolleg in Istanbul in 2015 with a degree, she came to Vienna to start her Bachelor’s Degree. She has been involved in various NGOs and worked as a volunteer. She is interested in research topics like political economy, migration, international relations and the EU.
Şafak Beren Yıldırım | Corporate Communications Coordinator
Şafak Beren Yıldırım is graduated from International Relations Department of Işık University Turkey in 2011. Later on in 2012, she continued with being a Master Degree student at Eskişehir Osmangazi University and completed her degree with her Master Thesis entitled “International Criminal Court’s Responsibility to Protect and It’s Role in Implementation”. Yıldırım has enriched her studies with being a research assistant at Wise Men Center for Strategic Studies (BİLGESAM) during May 2015 to September 2016. In addition to her responsibilities in PS:EUROPE, she is a second year PhD student in Political Science at İstanbul Bilgi University. Moreover, she is also a research assistant for a TUBITAK-funded Project. She speaks English. Her research areas are international law, Cyprus, International Criminal Court and human rights.
Berçem Pınar Piriştine | Corporate Communications Coordinator
Berçem Pınar Piriştine, graduated from Sakarya University with a Bachelor`s degree in International Relations. After she had completed German language competence in 2013, she decided to continue her career in Vienna. She is about to finish her M.A. degree in Political Science specialized on Gender & Politics and International Developments. Her current master study is about Turkish origin students who live in Vienna, their social integration and its impact on academic integration. She has been involved in various international projects and organizations. Her research interests are Gender Equality, Domestic Violence, Feminist Economics, International Developments and Global Energy Politics. She speaks Turkish, English and German.
Alper Şükrü Gencer | Project Coordinator
Alper Şükrü Gencer is an undergraduate student in Koç University studying International Relations with double major in Economics. His some of the research interests are comparative political economy, development and income distribution, inequality and poverty, international political economic structures. Having done internship in PS:EUROPE in the spring 2016, since the fall 2016 he is a member of PS:EUROPE team.
Meltem Şahin | Coordinator of External Affairs
Meltem Şahin graduated from Fontys International Business School, Netherlands, in 2012 and holds a BA (Econ) in Finance and Controlling. Within her bachelor´s program she spent one term studying finance at Lingnan University, Hong Kong, in 2010. Subsequently, she worked one term as a translator and researcher for Creditreform Russia in Moscow, where she also wrote a thesis about the European Creditreform departments’ communication and dependencies. During her studies Meltem took part in various team building processes and negotiation programs. Ensuing, she worked 3 years at Creditreform Rating AG in Neuss, Germany, where she also completed her bachelor thesis about Quality Management systems within rating processes. Currently, she is finalizing her studies with a MSc in Business Administration with focus on Human Resources at the University of Vienna. She is native in German and Turkish and furthermore, proficient in English.
Muhammed Balamir | Coordinator of EU Projects
Muhammed Balamir, has graduated from Zootechnics Department of Dicle University, Faculty of Agriculture. He had also studied at Slovak University of Agriculture as an Erasmus student. Muhammed, has been working on European Union projects since his undergraduate years. He worked in the Czech Republic within the scope of European Voluntary Service (EVS) and has actively participated in various EU Youth Projects. His first projects as participant, “Let’s Talk” was held in Italy. Muhammed, has also participated in the projects in Turkey and European countries such as the Czech Republic, Sweden, Norway, Hungary and Austria. Muhammed had received training courses about the project writing and coordination and coordinated various projects such as “Let’s Break The Bias”, “Sustainable Development”, “Show Your Voice”, “All Together”, “Let’s Work”, “Let’s Activate Urban Youth” and “Entrepreneurship for Youth Employability”.
Pınar Eldemir | Communication and Media Assistant
Pınar Eldemir graduated from Political Science and International Relations Department of Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2016. She is currently a master student in International Relations in Kadir Has University. She wrote her BA thesis with the title of “Culturel Cold War and Performing Arts”. Her research interests are International Relations theories, cultural diplomacy, the idea of power and soft power.
İlayda Çiloğlu | Communication and Media Assistant
İlayda Çiloğlu is a third year undergraduate student in the department of Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University. She worked as an editor at the campus newspaper Dinamik, which was published by Boğaziçi University Management and Economics Club. She is interested in visual design. Political theory and public policy studies are her main interest areas. She speaks English (advanced) and German (beginner).
Selen Duruşkan | Communication and Media Assistant
Selen Duruşkan is a first year undergraduate student in the department of Political Science and International Relations at Bogazici University. She is participating in Bogazici University Center for European Studies Student Forum as activities coordinator for 2 years. She is also writer at Dinamik. She is one of the participants of Young Mediators as Game Changers supported by Embassy of the USA. She participated in various conferences, seminars and workshops, and contributed to an environment project of European Volunteer System in Poland on August, 2016. Political psychology, migration and Middle Eastern studies, European studies, globalization and social movements, political theory are her main interest areas. She speaks English and she is learning French currently.
Sıla Gökmen | Administrative Affairs Assistant
Sıla Gökmen is currently an undergraduate student in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Bogazici University and pursuing a minor in the Department of Management. She spent one semester at University of Kent in the UK as an Erasmus student. During her B.A, she had a chance to have internships in private sector as well as Turkish National Commission for UNESCO. She speaks English (advanced) and French (intermediate). Her research interests include political economy, development, social policy and NGO management in addition to European politics & governance and European integration.
Fatih Karakaş | Project Assistant
Fatih Karakaş is currently a third year undergraduate student in Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University, to which he started in 2013. He plays an active role at various civil society organizations. His sociological travel writings are published in local magazines. Nation-state conception in the context of globalization, gender and politics in the Middle East, and politics of nationalism and ethnicity are amongst his research interests. Fatih Karakaş speaks English and Ottoman Turkish.
Betül Kübra Arslan | Project Assistant
Betül Kübra Arslan, is International Relations student at Ozyegin University. She takes part in research assistantship both at university and Koc University Migration Research Center. During 2016 Summer, she has made her internship at Habitat Association to support Literature Review and the course contents of the İmece Project. She is working at Habitat Association as project assistant. Migration, development, civil participation and democratization studies are the research interests of her.
Özen Pulat | Project Assistant
Ozen Pulat graduated from Bogazici University Translation and Interpreting Studies in 2013. During her years at university, she volunteered in various student clubs and non-governmental organizations especially the Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG). Having participated in many national and international projects on youth participation and gender equality, she also coordinated similar ones. She has been working at Sabanci Foundation for more than 4 years and at the same time she is an MA student in Social Projects and NGO Management Program at Istanbul Bilgi University. .
Salih Tosun | Project Assistant
He is a Political Science and International Relations senior student at Bogazici University and also studied at the University of Gothenburg via Erasmus program. He worked at Bilgi University Center for Migration Research and also got involved in some international projects. He is doing his internship at Bahcesehir University Center of Migration and Urban studies (BAUMUS).
Arif Safa Yükselay | Event Management Assistant
